REMINDER!  FIELD TRIP TOMORROW

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 23-27

READING:
This weeks letters are Pp and Cc.  The class will also review the letters Mm, Rr, Tt, and Ss.
Please continue to ask your child to think of a word that begins with the sound of these letters.
The class has learned most of the sight words on the list that I sent home.  I am going to send home another list for your child to study.  Please have your child read over these words each night.

MATH:
This week the class is working on more than and less than. Please continue to practice writing numbers 1-10.

LETTER OF THE WEEK SEPT. 9th-13th

This week the class is learning about the letter Rr.  The class will also review letters M and S from last week.  Please ask your child to name something that begins with each of these letters and have him or her tell you the sound of each letter.
In math, the class is working on counting objects and writing the numbers 1-10.

• Homework on Tuesday and Thursday.
• Thank you for all the hard work on AR!
• AR 50% day is Wednesday, September 11th.
• Please study sight words each night.
• Don't forget money for BOOK FAIR.

KINDERGARTEN NEWS FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT. 3th

• This week we have our first sight word list.  I am sending the list home on Monday. Your child must be able to read the words on this list by the end of the first nine weeks.
• Accelerated Reading is going well!  The students are really enjoying the books.  The only problem has been reaching the goal of 90%.  If your child has not reached the 90% goal, please test on fewer books.  Reading two or three books a week is our goal.  
• No school Monday.
• Have a safe Labor Day!

KINDERGARTEN NEWS!

• Thank you for helping your child with Accelerated Reader.  The class has been doing very well with testing. Remember your child needs to test on 2 or 3 books a week.

• On Wednesdays, please make sure your child wears the green school shirt for chapel and  his/her  tennis shoes for P.E. 

• Homework will be sent home on Tuesday and Thursday of each week.

• Starting this Friday, your child may bring something to share with the class.  The item has to be small enough to fit in his or her backpack.  Your child may bring a toy or a special picture.
